RETURNS POLICY 

We will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

General books  may be returned for exchange or store credit so long as the books are returned in unused, unread, original condition and the itemised receipt is presented within 28 days of purchase. The cost of returning books to Vic Books lies with the purchaser.

General books purchased in store also require presentation of an exchange card. 

Textbooks and Student Notes may be returned for exchange or store credit up until the end of the third week of Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 or the end of the second week of Trimester 3. Proof of withdrawal of course is required. The cost of returning books to Vic Books lies with the purchaser.

The textbooks and student notes must be returned in unused, unread, original condition and the itemised receipt also presented.

Return exceptions include: shrink wrapped items where the shrink wrap has been removed, calculators, gift vouchers, sale products, special orders and E-book access codes. These cannot be returned.

 

CUSTOMER COLLECT

We offer a free customer collect option with three pick up locations: Vic Books Kelburn, Vic Books Pipitea, and the Victoria University Te Aro campus Resource Shop. The return policy above applies to Customer Collect purchases, after which time the sale is final. Customers have one calendar month in total to collect their purchase. Purchases that are not collected within one calendar month will be disposed of. 

SHIPPING

Parcels within New Zealand are sent using NZ Courier. Where a P.O Box is provided we use NZ Post services. Orders placed online will usually be despatched within one business day and delivered within 1-2 business days. Exact delivery time frames and charges depend on location.

We also offer international courier. Price is calculated at checkout. Please be aware that due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic there are major delays for international deliveries.

Overseas customers and international students
Customers, and students, who are not resident in New Zealand do not have to pay GST on their purchases. However, if your book is delivered to a New Zealand address GST is payable.

When transmitting your personal information over the Internet, you should remember that the Internet is not a secure environment. Any personal information you transmit to Vic Books may be used by Vic Books to provide information to you about the full range of products and services offered by Vic Books. We do not sell, publish or give away your information. Information about you provided to us can be used by us to carry out our business.

Liability

We disclaim, to the extent permitted by law, all liability or responsibility to anyone for any direct or indirect loss or damage that may result from the action or failure to act by anyone in reliance on the content of our website.

All content on this site (including these terms of conditions) is subject to change at any time.

Unless otherwise specified, the content on this site has been prepared in accordance with New Zealand law for the supply of products and services to persons resident in New Zealand only.
